I am giving this restaurant 2 stars only due to the fact that the food was ok. The service was very lack luster and dry! Will never spend my money where I don't feel welcome!

I love joy of Tokyo, however just not this particular location as much. I always call ahead to place an order so it will be fresh. Every time I pick up my food it's always read but always cold, dry, and old. Food is always cold and dry. Seems like they made it the day before or way earlier in the day and it's been sitting for a long time. Very disappointing, because this location is very convenient to where I'm located. However, I would much rather drive further to receive better food that I'm paying for.

The two stars I've given this review is based solely off of customer service. The woman that runs the cash register needs a serious attitude adjustment. Rude, spiteful, and catty. They served all the take-out orders prior to our dine-in and copped an attitude when the order was incorrect. There are TOO many places to dine in Greenville to put up with that level of attitude. Not to mention, OTHER Joy of Tokyo's!

Tucked away in the mall on Laurens Road where Old America Pottery is located, you might just pass by this gem. We stopped in after a visit to the pet shop in the strip mall. The restaurant was almost deserted so we were served quickly . The counter person seemed less than enthusiastic about taking our order or answering our questions, but the food made up for her lack of professionalism. Now this is NOT fancy, nor fine dining, but the food is good, and well prepared. I thought is was a little pricey for the ambience...essentially there is none. But we did enjoy our food and will probably return when we're out that way again.

We get take-out from here usually once a week. For fast food hibachi it's fair, but it's the cucumber/avocado rolls coupled with the friendly service (and usually a smiling face) and really fair prices that gets the four stars.
